Charter Township of Raisin Board of Trustees

Mid-Month Regular Meeting

5525 Occidental Hwy

Tecumseh MI 49286

April 15, 2009

6:30 P.M.

Meeting called to order at 6:30 P.M. by supervisor Carl Wagner.

Members present:  James Palmer, Lee Mohr, Dale Mitchell, Debra Brousseau, Delight Sieler, Betty Holdridge and Carl Wagner.

Motion Sieler, second Brousseau to approve agenda as presented.

Motion Brousseau, second Palmer to have Officer Lambka move forward in obtaining a trained dog for a K-9 unit with Officer Escott as the other half of the K-9 unit with monies for the project coming from a grant for this purpose.   M/C

David Powell, assessor was present to discuss the Board of Review information.  Some properties are in question.   He also discussed whether Township Board would stand behind someone in a legal dispute if the insurance company did not give them the legal support.

Lenawee County Road Commission informed the Board that if they made a motion along with a resolution the Lenawee County Road Commission could close Sutton Road to thru traffic.  Board chose not to do this because of the liability issues that could possible face the Township.

The bid received from Lenawee County Road Commission to work on Sutton Road is a minimum specs bid—less than the bid for a standard upgrade.

Motion Brousseau, second Sieler to allow employees to rent the Raisin Community Center, when available, for a fee of $75.00 plus the cash deposit for rental.  They are not to use this privilege to rent for persons outside of the employment of the Township.  M/C

Motion Sieler, second Brousseau to adjourn meeting at 8:45 P.M.   M/C
